Wording to be used when reading the Gospel
The Holy Synod agreed that the phrase “honourable chapter” should not be used when reading the Holy Gospel. It is now settled that what should be said is, “A chapter from the Gospel according to our teacher St (…) the Evangelist, may his blessings be with us” and not “according to what is written by our teacher St (…) the Evangelist”.
