Importance of service parts that receive less service
His Holiness Pope Shenouda III appealed to the members of the Holy Synod to take care in serving the countryside, the new areas and the offshoot regions, otherwise they would be food for other sects that are active in places deprived of pastoral care. His Holiness suggested naming the year as “the year of pastoral care”, stressing the importance of providing local servants for all villages during the summer, relying on students from schools and universities. His Holiness said that many Bishops are concerned with reconstruction, but the means of pastoral care and service of the lost sheep are important, such as bringing cars and buses. He also noted the importance of serving the poor.
