This is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure used to enhance the appearance of the lips, making them fuller and plumper. This is achieved using dermal fillers in and around the lips to help give you the perfect pout.
This procedure is performed in the comforts of one of our luxury clinics, as a day-case procedure. The treatment is administered as a series of superficial injections using a very fine needle. This is usually well-tolerated, and although may be slightly uncomfortable, you are unlikely to find this painful. In between the injections, the doctor may massage your lips to achieve the desired result. After the procedure, you will be able to go home and continue with your normal day-to-day activities. You do not require any time off work, and there is no recovery period.
In general this treatment is safe, and complications are rare. Furthermore, there is an antidote to the dermal filler if needed at the time of procedure. Every procedure does carry a small degree of risk. This will be discussed in detail during your free initial consultation.
During your consultation, our doctor will go through your specific aftercare. In general there is no downtime and you can simply go back to your day to day activities without hindrance. You may be asked to avoid the sun, alcohol, and NSAIDs for 24 hours post-procedure. There may be some swelling which should settle within 24 – 48 hours.
The effects of this treatment should last between 6 - 12 months.
