Preparations for celebrations of new millennium

His Holiness Pope Shenouda III discussed with the Holy Synod how to prepare the celebrations of the second millennium for the birth of the Lord Christ, and also the coming of the Holy Family to Egypt, which the state of Egypt considers important. This will have a widespread echo over the whole world.

He discussed the following points:

·      The publications and leaflets (in various languages), activities, tapes [recordings], films, shrines that are present in Egypt that require preparation for this celebration.

·      The celebrations and festivals that will be undertaken by the Coptic Church and the invitation to attend from all around the world.

·      The role of the [numerous] media in covering these activities and celebrations.

·      The committees that must be formed to undertake the specific work for this occasion.
