Rules regarding vestments of Deacons
- Whomsoever presents himself for ordination as a Priest should not wear laymen’s clothes, but rather he should be ordained a full Deacon and wear the black robe as a consecrated Deacon, prior to wearing the clothes of priesthood.
- It is not permitted for a Deacon to wear a Tonia [vestment] prior to it being blessed by the Bishop or Priest.
- Whomsoever wears a Tonia [vestment] must be in the service of the Liturgy of the Divine Sacrifice, and must not depart from the liturgy to perform any other task.
- It is preferred for the [lead hymnists] to be ordained as Cantors and that they wear Tonias [vestments].
- Whomsoever attends late with a pardon, the priests prays for him the Absolution of the Servants, and blesses for him the Tonia [vestment].
- Diaconate Associations that visit churches must adhere to the correct system in the Diaconate service.
- Whomsoever wears a Tonia [vestment] must partake in the communion of the Holy Sacrament.
